A restored and remodeled medieval castle, and home to the Duke of Norfolk, Arundel Castle is known for its stunning features and impressive gardens. On your visit you will discover a fine collection of paintings, furniture and the amazing Baron’s Hall and State Apartments. The gardens are simply magnificent and make for a very peaceful and tranquil stroll.
Off the typical tourist trail, our private tour guide will take you to see the quaint downland villages of Amberley known for their thatched cottages, chalk pits and ancient castle. This tour can be customised with a visit to 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield (the greatest historical battlefield in Britain, King Harold and William the Conqueror). Due to location, this will limit your day tour to just one additional visit. We will happily discuss your preference with you upon booking.
For lunch our tour guide will give you a number of options to choose from on the day. The guide will stay with you at most locations but we cannot guide you inside all venues, you can discuss this with your guide on the day once you have agreed an itinerary. But the guide will tell you what and where to go and all the history and what time and where to meet once you are done at any self-guide locations you choose to visit.
